6'6" Fonzer Has Landed

I picked her up from EC's yesterday afternoon.

6'6" x 20 1/2" x 2 7/16" shaped by Eric Christenson

Lots going on the bottom in terms of channels, concave, etc. Pictures don't do it justice.

3/8" tapered Cedar stringer

6 1/2" 101 Fin Co. bamboo bonzer center fin by Marlin Bacon

School Bus yellow tint.

We're getting some work done on our house, so please, don't mind the shitter.

New Sleds

Where Eagles Dare picked up a choice 5'7" Frodo bat tail quad. EC has made some adjustments since I got mine a year ago. Pulled in tail, pushed up wide point, different deck, and slight concave adjustments. Looks so fresh, and so clean. He will run some Speed Dialer Cutaways.

P-cakes also picked up a 6'1" EC Ryder quad. Makes me want to get an actual shortboard, kinda. Not really. Looks sick though.

DoucheMcGregor, WhereEaglesDare, and I picked up Douche's new 9'4" "Modad" this morning from Steve over at Aloha Glassing.

EC is all about B.T.S. Bringing the Sickness.

Eric Christenson

My brother and I went over to EC's house today to order some new sleds.

I ordered a 9'3" Diamond tail Mod Sled. Single fin box (black). No leash plug. Sand finish. No color. Whatever logos EC wants, which will probably be none on the bottom and the bike logo on the deck. Six-Double-Six glassing. Should be sick. I think the dims are about 22.5" x 2 7/8"

My brother ordered a 5'7" Frodo bat-tail quad. Future fin boxes with Speeddialer turbos. No Color. Sand finish. Same exact dims as my Frankenstein board. EC said he has tweaked the design a bit, so it should be rad to compare and contrast the two sleds for him.

Anyways, EC had a stack of boards in the corner he has for sale. Here are some of them.

5'4" Bat Tail Twin Bat-Keel with art work by Randy Noborikawa. His other website is El Sugar Skull.

The fins are hand foiled baltic birch marine plywood. EC said it takes about a solid hour foil one of these fins....and he busted the tips off of three of them before he ended up with two.

This board is ready to ride. Functional art.

$1,800. Email surf.destroy@gmail.com for details or give EC a call @ 949.872.7013

The other board he had was a 5'9"x21" x 2.5" EPS Frodo Bat-tail quad. FCS fusion fin boxes.

I have a 5'7" Frodo and it is one of my favorite boards. My brother loves mine and he ordered one too. Douche McGregor just ordered a 5'8". A choice sled.

$500. Email surf.destroy@gmail.com for details or give EC a call @ 949.872.7013

Buy a board. Support local craftsmen. I'll even throw in a sixer of homebrew.

fresh coat

I stripped the old wax off of the frodo and put some fresh quick humps on it. Goin' down to pooport to shred with the boys tomorrow.

So fresh and so clean...and full of pressure dings.

I rode the shit out of this thing the day after I picked it up from EC. I never had the patience to let my sleds cure.

Your Daily Donkey

I made it. That's me: ShredTheGnar aka Danimal aka Surf.Destroy.

I started a new thread about flailing on the erBB with this photo taken by captmouth.

It ended up on Your Daily Donkey!

Shred

Fun surf this morning. Lots of ladybugs in the water with the help from the warm Santa Anas.

Scotty back in the water after some injuries. It was a slalom course out there. Scotty and his brother Turkey are Cycle Zombies.

Julio on some old waterlogged Harbour Nineteen. The thing was full of holes and covered in duct tape. The board is known as "The Whore." Everyone has had a ride.

Julio on a hot one.

Weekend warriors. I should have brought the kook killer. Maybe tomorrow.

Green Goblin

I saw this awhile back on Daily Bread.

His blog is one of the few that I actually check on a daily basis. Usually when I am at work, around lunch time. His posts usually make me regret not getting out of bed that morning to surf. If you read his blog, you know what I am talking about.

It's me.

I know you are most likely familiar with this "Get In the Van"

Photobucket

But here is the Captain Fin Co. crew with a new film, aptly titled, "Get In the Van."

Surf and Destroy's buddy, Scotty Stopnik, is featured in the film. We hope to see Scotty back in the water sooner rather than later. Last time I was at EC's I saw a new creation in the works for Scotty and Turkey.

You can check out the Cycle Zombie blog to see what those two are up to.

On to the trailer.

5'5" Phantom of the Agua

Stopped by EC's last night to pick up a new shred sled for my brother. 5'5" Phantom of the Agua. It is a blend between a traditional twin keel and a modern quad.

BL!SSS Magazine

Get your ass out there and grab the newest issue of BLI!SSS Magazine.

The featured artist is Randy Noborikawa. He is a good friend of EC and the artist who hand paints all of EC's art boards.

When asked by BL!SSS if Randy shaped the boards he gracefully replied: "Hell no, they are shaped by Eric Christenson, a good friend of mine. He is an amazing shaper. He keeps his stealth profile by riding bikes as much as he shapes surfboards, as depicted by his logo. Seriously, he's a master craftsman and he lets me design wacky tails."

Randy and Eric have been preparing for an art show in early 2008 that will feature hand-shaped custom shred sleds of assorted shapes and sizes to serve as canvas' for Randy's unique artwork.

Get ready for some insane demonstrations of artistry and craftsmanship.

New Additions

P-cakes picked up two new shred sleds from EC recently.

This here is a 9'2" Mod Sled. This board is one of EC's newest designs and this is the first one with a diamond tail. This board handles everything quite well: off the top, off the bottom, and most importantly, on the nose. I have heard through the grapevine that the Greenough 4A is the fin of choice on this model. P-cakes has chosen a 9" Good Karma fin by Joel Tudor Surfboards to suit his sliding pleasures.

Next, we have a 5'8" Phryed Fish. A staple in many quivers. For flyin' down the line and G-Force turns, look no further. EC has narrowed the tail a bit on the newer editions and they seem to be working insane, as always. Hand foiled plywood fins by EC.

New Shred Sled

9'7" Diamond Tail Noserider, compliments of EC, has arrived.

I will wax her up and take her out for spin tomorrow in the a.m.
